Founder & CEO, JMS Capital Partners
David Shepherd, Founder and CEO of JMS Capital Partners, brings more than 30 years of global leadership and operational strategy to the company. As a cyber security consultant, David managed multi-national teams supporting municipalities and businesses across a range of industries, especially financial services, and oversaw multi-million dollar budgets and key technology initiatives.
David was the Vice President of an orthopedic surgery practice, where he led the expansion from a single location to seven multidisciplinary centers serving NY, NJ, and PA. His passion for using business as a force for good led him to organize emergency communications and volunteer teams after Hurricane Katrina, coordinate annual Habitat for Humanity and Chicago Public Schools renovation projects, coach youth sports, and serve as a council member and Finance Chair in his New Jersey city, where he founded the Economic Development Committee and championed local development and health initiatives.
David also facilitated free health screenings for first responders, raised funds for global clean water initiatives, and actively supported Mariano Rivera’s Refuge of Hope and Covenant House for homeless youth. He hosted weekly church youth groups and has long promoted responsible local business growth.
David holds an MBA in International Finance from Loyola University Chicago, and a BS in Accounting & Finance. As a seasoned real estate investor and owner of multiple rental properties, David has personally managed the rehab of numerous homes and condos. At JMS Capital Partners, he is dedicated to structuring creative financial solutions and putting client success above all else.
Julie Shepherd
Founder & President, JMS Capital Partners
Julie Shepherd brings 25 years of strategic communications and leadership to JMS Capital Partners. As the Founder and President of Accentuate Public Relations, she oversaw PR for clients ranging from innovative startups to global, publicly traded companies, successfully coordinating the launch of transformative products and technologies in automotive, law enforcement, ecommerce, travel, and retail. Through high-impact campaigns and savvy media relations, Julie helped dozens of organizations achieve record growth, acquisition, or public market success.
Earlier in her career, Julie led high-tech development teams at Chicago and Detroit PR agencies, advising North American and European startups on growth strategies. She directed promotional efforts for Monster Jam, Supercross, and major music events, consistently drawing top-tier media coverage and driving community engagement.
Julie is deeply dedicated to public service, having served as a New Jersey school board member, where she helped pass a $22 million referendum to expand local education and launch the Biotech Academy. In Illinois, she led her HOA to protect local schools from disruptive development, and has held board and marketing chair roles for various non-profit, environmental, athletic, and parent-teacher organizations. Julie also spent nearly two decades teaching Sunday school and leading high school youth groups at her church.
Julie earned her BA in Communications Studies from the University of Iowa. At JMS Capital Partners, she applies the full spectrum of her skills and experience to empower clients, believing that every investor’s success is a measure of her own.
